The Bagong Barrio Education Fund is a not-for-profit sponsorship program that focuses on education as a means of breaking the cycle of poverty.
The program supports the educational needs of the children of Bagong Barrio, the second largest slum village in Manila.
100% of the sponsors' money goes directly to the students.
We believe that that education improves a young person's opportunity of gaining employment, thereby increasing their ability to support themselves and their families in the future.
Supertyphoon Yolanda Announcement
Hello all, due to the recent tragedy experienced by the Philippines it comes as no surprise that we've received an abundance of concerned calls and e-mails and so the BBEF team would like to advise that Bagong Barrio was not affected as greatly as the Tacloban and Leyte regions and that the BBEF students and their families have all been reported safe. If there is anyone who wishes to donate and support those in need please kindly visit the Philippine Red Cross page for more information.
